President's Welcome

BE READY TO BELONG TO THE

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE COMMUNITY

Oki and Hello!

Thank you for choosing Lethbridge College, where you are now part of a community of people committed to you and your learning success.

Our goal is to prepare you for a career, support for you to develop your skills and strengths, and surround you with a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment.

As you find your purpose and unleash your potential, you'll be ready to shape communities - your individual circles of influence, the places where you work and live - for the better.

If this all sounds a bit lofty, well it is. But your post-secondary education should be about building for your future. I hope you do think big and have lofty aspirations. Now's the time!

Along the way, you'll have a lot of practical considerations. This Academic Calendar is intended to help you navigate some of them. Within these pages, you will find information about programs, courses, services, important dates and deadlines, requirements for your certificate, diploma or degree, and which courses can transfer to other post-secondary institutions.

In addition to all the practical information in this Academic Calendar, I want to offer some personal advice for how to level up your college experience:

  • Seize on opportunities to access the expertise and assistance the college offers. Our instructors have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our learning and wellness supports can help you succeed.
  • Get involved in clubs, recreational activities and student leadership opportunities available through the Lethbridge College Students' Association.
  • Explore campus - and not just the spaces where your classes are located. You never know what opportunities might pique your interests. The college is home to excellent academic programming, extensive trades training and world-class researchers in agriculture, public safety and technology. Watch for opportunities to work and learn with our researchers.
  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are only a problem if you don't learn from them. Our lives are a series of iterations. Our failures can show us new paths to success.
  • Make friends. They will encourage and support you here and quite likely for years to come.

If you're new to the college or returning to us, I wish you the best. I look forward to seeing you on stage at Convocation once you've successfully completed your certificate, diploma or degree.
